I think that there are nothing, not even crime, more in opposition to poetry, to philosophy, ay, one's itself than this incessant business.
A promotional agency is 85 % confusion and 15 percent commission.

I find it interesting when I read about writers like Richard Henry Dana, Herman Melville etc. that "Failed" at their writing while they were alive. Then after their death are hailed as supreme at their craft.
Years after their passing their work is published, read by millions of people, college classes are set up to educate people about their books and critics rave about how great they are.

Who really knows what "Failure" is ?

Well, I figure we had to invent death to make sure we could get out of here. The way we've got things set up, we can only stand to be a human for so long at a time. But it's addictive, you know? When I was born, my only feeling was, "Yikes! Gimmeouttahere!" Slowly, though, I got involved with being a human, and pretty soon, the thought of death started feeling like, "Yikes! Not yet!" At this point, and I'll see your five decades and raise you one, life and death aren't "Yikes!" matters any more, but still, when it stops being fun to be here, I'm glad to have a way to leave off.

Heya! Thank you for reading and especially for backtalking. Best part of essaying is when someone shares their story, their pov, in response to what I've written. --db

Really enjoyed this one David. I embrace dr. death pretty fully & love to joke about it daily! It's usually a bummer but according to Prime Minister of China, Wen JaiBao, it's the ultimate gift! hahah In his words, "freedom from all wants, needs & desires."
In my case, freedom from cleaning up my rat hole. hahhah
